(Deutsche Version des Artikels)
I don’t think that I’m the only one doing queries on Microsoft’s Live Search (Live.com) who has to write down the position of a specific result. But, sadly, I didn’t find any Firefox-Plugin that does the task of auto-numbering the found sites like i.e. Customize Google for Google-SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages).
So, after using UserStyles (or more exact Stylish) for some time now, I tried a little bit with a sample-code I’ve found and the result is a working result-counter. So to say, just another SEO-Tool. But, I honestly think, a very useful one.
You can install it here: Live Search Result-Counter
Hope you like it!
For people who don’t know UserStyles yet: It is a website that provides user-made scripts/styles, which can be appended to any site’s styles and looks. So, for example, if you don’t like adverts on your most-liked blogging- or news-site, you can look up a user-script that removes such unwanted DIVs or changes links on that page to the color green (not my personal favorite, but who knows…
).
If you get the hang of it or don’t find any fitting style for the website you think about, you can invent some style your own. Just try! Have a look at what the others do an learn. A preview-function is included and very useful, since it works in realtime.
You can find or develop tools for your daily Search Engine Optimisation needs and even find some stuff for you private surfing-experience.
Greets,
Lestarte
